Location: Gladstone South Swimming Club, Gladstone, QLD
Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time (depending on availability)
Salary package: $30,000 - $80,000 depending on hours wanted and duties undertaken (Coaching/LTS instructing/Aquatic Centre duties)

Gladstone South Swimming Club is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Swim Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about swimming and coaching, and be committed to helping swimmers of all levels achieve their potential. About Gladstone South Swimming Club:
Our Club was formed from scratch 8 years ago and has grown to be one of the biggest in QLD by member numbers. We now operate across 4 pool venues with a great team of coaches and swim instructors. We cater to all levels of swimming, from beginner Learn to Swim, Recreational, fitness and all the way up to State and National Champions, with over 60 State level Rep swimmers.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Head Swim Coach with the planning and execution of daily squad training.
• Provide technical coaching on stroke mechanics, starts, turns, and finishes.
• Help monitor and track swimmers' progress through individualized feedback and group coaching.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating atmosphere for athletes.
• Assist in organizing and coaching at swim meets and events.
• Ensure swimmers adhere to all safety protocols during practice and competitions.
• Attend regular staff meetings and collaborate with the coaching team to assess team performance and development.
• Assist with administrative duties, including attendance, meet entries, and communication with swimmers and parents.
Qualifications:
• Previous swimming experience (competitive swimming preferred but not required).
• Strong knowledge of swim techniques and training methods (or willingness to learn)
• Experience coaching or teaching swimming (preferred but not required).
• Ability to work well with swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain).
• Current ASCTA accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for mentoring athletes.

Coaching hours will be approximately 18hrs/week with extra hours available in LTS, school swimming and Aquatic Centre roles.
